Etsy Give Away

This has been an exciting week for me on Etsy. I made my 200th sale, and now I'm introducing my new fabric line! I thought I would never get it right, but it's finally here. I've already started making some quilt blocks from the fabric, but I'm excited to share my fabric, too.

I've learned a lot about fabric design from this process, and I think my next line (whatever that may be) will be even better. I appreciate all the comments I've gotten so far about my Jade line, but now that I've got it all together, I'd really like to get some more feedback.

So, here's the give away:

The prize: A bundle of goodies from my shop, perfect for another doodling designer:
1 Fat Quarter of the winner's choosing from my new line, a handmade-handstamped notepad, a watercolor journal, and a My Orange Curtain Giraffe Kit

To enter: All you have to do is have a look at my new fabric line (either in my shop or at this previous post) and let me know what you think. What would you use this fabric for? Which prints are your favorite, and what do you think of the colors? I'm putting myself out there for a good old fashion critique! I'll randomly choose one one winner from the comments on Monday morning, March 23rd. Be sure your profile is public and includes an email address or leave your email with your comment so that I can contact you if you win.

I am really liking the hand drawn designs you have done, i love the windows and the ones that are just vines, the one that i dont think is the strongest design and colours is the creamy/yellow windows with only green on the vines, but i love the version with the red, blue and green included.

You have done a great job and for your first line of fabric, i think you should be very happy with yourself!

I absolutely love your fabrics -- especially the original jade in my window. I think they would make lovely tea towels, which I'm loving making lately. I would also think that it could make a fun a-line dress for my little girls. Very springy!

Best, Peggy

My favourite is the original jade window fabric, it's wonderful. I would use it in a quilt...somehow. Probably fussy cut and then a simple square in a square block.

I love the colours too, all of it is awesome!

LOVE the blue window, and no clue what I would use it for yet! Your cute stuff makes it hard to choose!

I love the blue window fabric. All your fabrics are great, I love the muted colors. I think it would also be fun to see some designs in brighter colors for spring and summer! You've done an amazing job though, beautiful designs!

Laura, I am so jealous that you have your own fabric line... I have friends who design fabric lines! How cool is that?

I REALLY love the Jade in My Window... it represents everything sweet and beautiful about home-life, and reminds me how much I loved my grandmother's houseplants. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the red trim on the curtains. It really pops!

The jade print with the light blue background is really nice, sweet and simple.

I would totally use the Jade in My Window for a kitchen cafe curtain, along with a matching apron, coffee press cozy, and tea towels... Oh, and could I steal the yellow for my walls. I love a yellow wall...

I would use the light blue jade pattern for coordinating tea towels and might even use it for pillows throughout my home. (this is my imaginary future home..)

Oooo, the red and blue jades prints would really make a nice motif for a room. You're right about the red, I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise, but it looks incredible now!

Oh, and the yellow Jade in my Window.... it makes me so happy! I would make a tote bag from it, or a laptop cozy.

The green windows would be cute in a bathroom for the shower curtain with the blue used as the wall color.

I love your simple line drawing style. My favorites are the windows on the blue background and the windows with the plants on the blue background.

I would use the first one above for curtians and the second one for throw pillows. I'd love to make a slip cover for the visitors chair in my studio from the first one with the large windows. Too cute!

I like the windows on blue background best. I think it would make a cute zip bag for holding keys etc. I like the new and improved red, but especially like the white version with the all over jade plant print. Thanks for the giveaway. mybabyappleseed(at)yahoo(dot)ca

Your fabric designs are positively brilliant!
My favorite is the Blue Windows http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22519621
I like the touch of red.
I would use this fabric to accent a curtain for my craft room - a fun and unexpected twist for inspiration!
I would also love to make a coffee cozy for my travel mug to make me smile on the go!

I love the "Jade in my Window" prints. The blue is my fave - I love how the yellow curtains stand out. I would use them to make bags/pouches.
I adore the window one without the plants as well. Again, I prefer the blue as the yellow curtains are cute!
Jade on Blue is pretty =) too.
Thanks =)

The jade in my window is my favorite. I love the little accent of red color. I think your fabrics are really pretty. I would probably make a clutch or something cute and little purse type thing.

I appreciate how you tied together the floral and the window fabrics with the flowers in the window fabric, but I can't see myself using them together. I think the jade fabrics would make a great lining for a coat or the exterior of a purse, and the window fabrics would look nice on pillows.

Very cool! Spoonflower is a local company, so I was excited to see that was who you worked with.

I love how it all goes together so well. My first thought was that they'd be perfect for a tote bag, but now I'm thinking about one of those little aprons that fits a five gallon bucket that holds your gardening tools!

You might want to add a little note in the descriptions or a picture with a ruler to show scale of the pattern to help those shopping for a certain project in mind.

This is an awesome giveaway! Not sure what exactly is part of the new line, but I like Blue Window and Jade in My Window - they'd be cute as pillowcases or even large quilt squares.

I like the hand drawn look. I like the idea of windows. I like that you've got a couple of different scales going so you can use them together without them competing for attention. I would probably use the blue window that has a little red in it along with the red fabric and a solid white for quilting. It'd be fun to think about for curtains too. What a grand journey you are on, designing your own fabrics!

I like the windows very much. I especially think the windows print with the blue background is your best, and would be nice for lots of things (home decor, tote bag, spring skirt, etc). The other window prints can make whimsical curtains, but the pattern might be unflattering for clothing. The plant vines are neat. The red is very striking but the color combination may make it very popular around Christmas only. It will be cool to see what you make next!

Laura,
The "Jade in my window" on blue is absolutely my favorite. I'm always a goner for blues/greens put together -- God's design of the sky and grass doesn't get much better does it?

I think something for my kitchen. Maybe tea towels, hot pads, etc. Maybe if Ivy would wear it - a little dress. We could call the plant "ivy" just for fun:-)

You're so talented. Thanks for sharing your gifts.
